For this Father’s Day edition of our #YourBestYou series, we connected with #EverydayAthlete Keith Lee. We know him as a co-founder of Two Percent Fitness but he’s also a lawyer, and most importantly, a recent father. He was kind enough to find some time in his busy schedule to talk about #YourBestYou, the importance of family, and what fatherhood has taught him thus far.

What does “Your Best You” mean to you?
To me it’s about doing the things that you are passionate about. If you do what you are passionate about, the fact that you are happy on a daily basis will be all the motivation you need to put in that extra effort.
What is one thing fatherhood has taught you?
Be patient and attend to details. Being a father also makes me realise the importance of cherishing all the little moments in life.
Tell us a good Dad joke?
What do you call a cheese that isn’t yours? Nacho cheese!
What are the three things you can’t live without?
Family, love, and water.
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to try but you’ve been too scared to do?
A spicy food challenge.
How do you encourage your kid(s) to stay active?
I try to encourage my kids to be active by being a role model myself!
What did you have as a child that kids today don’t have?
Moments without electronic devices.
Who inspires you to become Your Best You?
My Dad, more than anyone, inspires me to strive to be my best self.
What’s your favorite holiday?
What advice would you give someone who is about to become a father for the first time?
It can sometimes be tough but be patient with all behaviours of your kids! You were once a kid and its because of your parents’ patience and love that you are who you are today.
